How to win KOT

1. Read the question properly
Most of the time when I have got knocked out, it has been because I have not read the question properly, and have missed a vital clue in the question that would lead to the correct answer. Many are just common sense and we just over-complicate it.

2. Eliminate clearly wrong answers first
Sometimes you don't need to know the right answer. The right answer may be a word you have never heard of, but in the context of the question, 3 answers can't possibly fit. Even if you rule out 2 answers, you are then increasing your chance of picking the right answer to 50% instead of 25%, and that's what you have lifelines for.
e.g. a question I just saw which knocked out 12 people - "The Low Fares Airline" is an ad slogan used by which company - choices were Kix, Nestle, Ryanair, and a cigarette company (I think it was Virginia Slim Cigarettes). Now even if you've never heard that slogan, which answer would you pick? Ryanair, of course, just by eliminating the other 3 which are obviously not airlines.

Unless there is a language difficulty (and i sympathise with those whose first language is not English, the tips do state this game may not be for you if English is not your first language), there would be no reason for anyone to get this wrong

3. Take a deep breath and keep calm
If you feel anxious, you will cut off the oxygen to your brain and it will stop you focussing. FACT!

4. Nine times out of 10, your first instinct is the correct one. I can't tell you how many times I have been runner-up instead of winner, or got knocked out because I have picked my answer, then changed it right at the very last second, and my first answer would have been the right one.

5. Learn from your mistakes - oh what a lesson for life and for KOT equally.

6. Have some confidence in yourself, you're smarter than you let yourself believe. But if you don't have confidence, or put thoughts in your head like 'I never win', 'It's always the same winners', then you've lost before you've begun.

I used to play pool competitively, mixed league, only a few ladies playing against many men. When a guy saw they were playing against me, I would see their confidence drop, especially when their own team-mates would start making fun because they were playing against a woman (yes unfortunately sexism still does exist). At that point, I knew it was my game, not because I was a better player, often I knew I wasn't, but I knew that their had lost their nerve.

7. Quitters never win, winners never quit!
How often do we see this phrase used in SFI? Especially in the free games, I see about 70% of players knocked out in the first 3 questions, and not buy back in. Well, I'll tell you a secret, all the winners you see are buying back in and using their lifelines, they are using TCs to get to the winning post.

8. Don't blame the winners. Accept that some people naturally have different trivia knowledge to you, and some may have more (e.g. I have been an avid reader, crossworder and quizzer all of my life so know a fair bit), but you can learn it too. It is not just because I have learned all the answers, there's only maybe 5-10% I didn't know, but have learned, and I am grateful for that learning. No cheating, no tricks, just knowing and learning.

9. Don't blame geography. I have observed that the questions in KOT are about 90% generic subjects, like maths, science, space, art & literature, common foods, plants & animals, etc. Very few are geographically-specific and I think those that are, are distributed fairly equally between the different parts of the world.

10. HAVE FUN AND FOCUS ON THE POSITIVES!!!
If you're not enjoying it, don't play it. In the early days, while I was just getting used to how the game worked, I wasn't winning, didn't think I would, but I was enjoying collecting those VPs and MRPs, especially the Double MRPs, and knowing I was amassing enough to buy a few extra TCs if I was a bit short to make EA this month.
I focussed on what I WAS getting from it and enjoying, not what I was 'losing'.

But it doesn’t stop there of course.  Once they are exposed to TripleClicks, don’t be surprised if they discover Pricebenders auctions, the TC Deal Of The Day, etc.  Also, don’t forget that with the new W3 program if they refer others to TripleClicks, or if they start a league for their co-workers, or whatever, all those folks can become your PRMs!  Yes,building a little sports league can be BIG in building your SFI business!

Q: How can I attract lots of people to join my league?Number one, make it FUN…and people will flock to participate!  Here are some ways to infuse fun into your league.

• Get a traveling trophy.  It could just be something silly like a rock that you’ve painted…or a big bottle of tabasco sauce (for your “hottest” league member).  Better yet, get a real trophy locally or from an online store likecrownawards.com, complete with your league’s name engraved on it!  You can get some great trophies for $15 or less!  Especially within an office, people will love being recognized and getting to display the trophy for the weeks they’re the high scorer (and they’ll work hard to keep winning).  It also acts as a great conversation-starter, to get more and more people in your league each week.
• Offer a prize at the end of the season for the person who scored the most points.  A nice prize will definitely increase interest, engagement, and fun for everyone in your league.  Best of all, you don’t have to keep track of anything.  The leaderboard on your league website automatically tracks all the scoring each week and for the season for all your league members.
• Spice it up with some friendly banter on your league website’s chat board.
• Consider a traveling “stinker trophy” for the worst record of the week, too.  Have fun with it of course, don’t make anyone feel bad!  Perhaps it’s a box of diapers or a framed picture of a sad dog/cat that they must keep on their desk all week as a reminder to pick up their game.
• Consider a fun weekly email or blog to further engage your league members with discussions about each week’s games, recognizing good and not-s0-good play, the badges that members are winning, etc.

Q: Won’t being a League Commissioner require a lot of time and work?Actually, one of the best reasons to start an Uber-Picks league is that WE do all the heavy lifting for you!  The free, customized league website included has a leaderboard that tracks all scoring throughout the season, a live chat board, and more.  All you really have to do is invite your league members; we’ll take care of everything else including distributing badges and any shares of the Zackpot won each week.  We also send out an email reminder to any of your members who haven’t yet made their picks before the deadline, and all of your league members will also receive a weekly recap that recognizes the members who finished with the highest scores, and more.

Q: What is the minimum number of league members required?Five (including yourself).

Q: What happens if I start a league and can’t get at least four other members?You and your members won’t be able to play for free if you are unable to get the minimum number of league members signed up.

Q: What is the cost if my league becomes larger than ten members?
For up to ten members, there is no cost.  If your league is larger than ten, you will need to upgrade your league.  You will be charged (as the League Commissioner), a nominal number of TCredits per member over ten.  You can of course require that your member(s) reimburse you for this cost.

Q: Can I invite anyone to join my league?Yes. You can invite anyone–including your SFI upline and downline members.  That said, if your intent is to make your league a business-generator, you’ll want your league members to consist of your existing PRMs and those who aren’t yet TC members.

Q: Can I create more than one league?Yes, you could have a league for you and your co-workers, another league for you and some family members who love sports, and so on.  You can also do sports leagues for any of the current six Uber-Picks sports offerings.  Best of all, you can create unlimited leagues for free!  Other companies charge as much as $30-$50 per league.  We provide it for FREE!

Q: I’m uncomfortable soliciting my friends, family, co-workers, etc. about SFI.  What should I do?That’s why starting an Uber-Picks league is perfect for you then.  Not once do you ever need to mention SFI or the business opportunity that SFI and TripleClicks represent.  Just run you league and focus on having fun as League Commissioner.  If your friends, family, and co-workers are enjoying the experience, they’ll naturally become more active at TripleClicks and generate commissions for you…without there ever having to be an “awkward moment!”

Q: Is only the league commissioner allowed to invite members to his/her league?
That’s up to the commissioner.  Commissioners can certainly allow their league members to use their League Invitation League and invite others if they wish to.

Our affiliates have been extremely generous and wonderful about
submitting testimonials.  So much so, in fact, that we now have
THOUSANDS of powerful testimonials in our database that have
the ability to convince even the biggest skeptic that SFI is not only the real 
deal, but a program that they should be actively involved with!

With that in mind, we’re pleased today to debut our brand new
“testimonials-centric” gateway.

The new gateway features hundreds of the best testimonials we’ve 
received.  And for credibility, each testimonial includes the name, 
photo, and country of the author!

As an added feature, readers can also use the included filter to
see just the testimonials from any country!  This is especially handy 
if you’re trying to convince someone from a specific country that SFI will 
work for them!  TIP: You can pull up the country you want to feature
and then grab that URL to use as a country-specific gateway.  Note:
If there are more than 50 testimonials for the chosen country, the
system will pull 50 of them at random each time chosen.
